Summer Skincare Tips
Shaving during the summer can be challenging due to increased humidity, sweat, and sun exposure. Here are some summer skincare tips to help you maintain smooth and healthy skin:
Before Shaving
Exfoliate Regularly: Gently exfoliate your skin before shaving to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs. Use a mild and gentle scrub.
Hydrate Your Skin: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. Well-hydrated skin is more resilient and less prone to irritation.
During Shaving
Use Warm Water: Shave after a warm shower or use a warm towel to soften the hair and open up pores. This makes shaving easier and reduces the risk of cuts and irritation.
Choose the Right Shave Care: Opt for a shaving cream or gel that provides good lubrication. Light, cooling and great for sensitive skin our Aloe Vera range is our summer favourite.
Use a Sharp Razor: Always use a sharp, clean razor. A dull blade can cause nicks, irritation, and razor burn. Our Safety Razor blades come in nifty packs of 10 and are available online for only £4.50.
Shave with the Grain: Shave in the direction of hair growth to minimize irritation and ingrown hairs. If you need a closer shave, you can shave against the grain, but do so carefully and only after the initial pass.
After Shaving
Rinse with Cool Water: After shaving, rinse your skin with cool water to close pores and soothe the skin.
Apply a Moisturizer: Use an alcohol-free, fragrance-free moisturizer to hydrate your skin and reduce irritation. Our ORGANIC face cream is super lightweight and contains shea butter to optimize the lipid balance and smooth the skin.
Use a Sunscreen: Apply sunscreen to protect your freshly shaved skin from UV rays, especially if you'll be spending time outdoors. Choose a broad-spectrum SPF of at least 30.
By following these tips, you can enjoy smooth, irritation-free skin all summer long.
