The Material

Karelian masur birch

The particularly beautiful wood of the masur birch comes from trees in the tree-line regions of the far north of Germany. Due to the harsh climatic conditions, the growth height is low and the wood develops an exceptionally rich grain.

The hand-picked square timbers are shaped by turning. Only the finest specimens are processed further and stabilised and coated in a special procedure. This makes the wood water resistant and hard-wearing.

Razor Head

Classic razor blade (closed comb)

The MÜHLE safety razor with closed comb promises a thorough yet gentle shave. In combination with a slightly steeper blade angle, this safety razor promises a particularly gentle shaving technique, which is also suitable for beginners with a little practice. The finest contours and clear lines at the base of the beard are just the icing on the cake.

Blades are easily replaced by unscrewing the head of the Safety Razor. Replacement blades can be purchased from us, we recommend the rust-proof MÜHLE razor blades, a perfect match for this timeless razor.

With good prep,' in my case, after sixty years of shaving, soaking the beard area first in warm water, then lathering, rinsing, then re-applying lather before shaving I get the optimum, most fantastic nick free shaves ever. Who says the R89 is a mild head incapable of close shaves?"
